Shadowhunters "Third rule of Shadowhunting: emotions cloud judgement."

 AGE: Early 20s APPEARANCE: He's tall (5'11'') and stocky with broad shoulders. He has heterochromia - one blue eye and one brown, and he has blond hair that's long on top with a shaved undercut. It's very tragic, someone help him. As a Shadowhunter, his skin is also perpetually covered in dark symbols that look a little like tattoos, but are actually branded runes. Please see visual reference here! FASHION: Jace tends to dress all in black, only rarely deviating from that. It's a Shadowhunter thing rather than a specific fashion choice. He wears t-shirts, sweaters, jeans, utility pants, and a not insignificant amount of black leather. He trains shirtless and I apologise in advance. DEMEANOUR: He tends to look tense and ready, as if he's expecting a fight at any given moment. He has a habit of standing with his arms folded. He often looks serious and focused, but is prone to smirking and laughing when he's making fun of someone. If he likes you he'll be amiable enough in your company. If not, expect intense deadeyeing. LANGUAGES: English, probably some conversational Spanish. Shadowhunters can use a 'speaking in tongues' rune, also. OLFACTORY: Jace is a Shadowhunter, otherwise known as one of the Nephilim - he's descended from angels. He also has pure angel blood in his veins. Any character who could detect that scent is free to. Otherwise, he smells either of sweat and life in the gym, or of hot showers and aftershave. Jace is kind of a narcissist, he likes to look and smell good. TOUCHING: Jace is fairly tactile with other people and won't mind it in return so long as you're not someone he dislikes. If you do something he doesn't like, he'll not be slow to let you know! VIOLENCE: Feel free! Bear in mind that Jace has had extensive, lifelong physical training and experience in the field, and also that the runes on his body give him powers and abilities that humans do not have. Shoot me a pm or hit me up on Plurk if you'd like to plot something first! FRIENDSHIP: Jace isn't that used to making friends outside of his very small circle of New York Shadowhunters. He won't trust outsiders that easily, and he's also pretty difficult to get close to even if he likes you. ROMANCE: Jace's last romance crashed and burned in spectacular fashion. He's pretty keen to move on, especially since he thinks he's lost his chance with the girl he loves - but he's still hung up on her. He's unlikely to get into anything serious while he feels that way, but a casual encounter isn't off the table. TELEPATHY: Please discuss any sort of mental invasion or contact with me first so that we can plot how it goes! Jace is likely to respond negatively to anyone who gets into his head without permission. POWERS: Jace is a Shadowhunter. This means he's descended from angels, don't everyone clamour for his autograph at once. Please see below for more detail, as some of his powers require permissions from you! TRIGGERS: Very few things will trigger him unless by some miracle he's talking about his own issues. Getting Jace to open up is a job of work, and he can manage a lot of detachment when he's listening to other people talk. His own issues are potentially triggering: family death in his past, animal cruelty (not by Jace, but as a punishment for him), emotional manipulation. He's also recently discovered that the man he believed was his father was actually an enemy of the Clave who experimented on Jace as a child. Due to this experimentation he's discovered that he has pure angel blood, and he's still dealing with what that means for him. | Jace is a Shadowhunter. This means that he is descended from a race of nephilim - humans enhanced with the blood of the archangel, Raziel, in order to protect the world from demons. His resulting powers are as follows: Enhanced physiology which makes him physically and mentally more durable than regular humans. Use of Angelic Runes, which are burned into his flesh and grant him a range of different abilities. Use of Angelic objects such as weapons, witchlights and steles, which do not work for normal humans. His physiology also provides him with an innate ability called the Sight, which enables him to see through glamours and magical disguises. This ability is not foolproof, since Shadowhunters have to be trained in its use. However, Jace has been training since childhood and he is not easily fooled. Due to this, I would be very grateful if you could fill in the below Permissions to let me know whether your character would be affected by the Sight.
